What Pole Grip should you pick?

Choosing a pole grip can be seriously overwhelming (and not to mention pricey!) until you find the one that suits your body. The truth is — your grip needs can change depending on a bunch of things, like:

  • What type of pole you're using (chrome, brass, stainless, powder-coated?)

  • The weather or season

  • Where you're at in your monthly cycle

  • What you ate or drank the day before

  • Whether you've used moisturiser, fake tan or sunscreen

So... How Do You Pick a Pole Grip?

There’s no one-size-fits-all grip. It’s all about trial and error. Personally, I find that:

  • In Winter and Summer, my skin is dry or clammy, and a hand grip alone is enough.

  • In Autumn and Spring, my skin is a wild mix, so I need a strong hand grip and something for thighs and knees.

What Is Grip Aid?

Pole grips come in many forms: liquids, gels, sprays, lotions, or resin-based formulas.

  • Liquid chalks, drying agents, and antiperspirants = best for sweaty skin

  • Gels, resins, and sprays = best for dry skin

Let’s break down what each of our faves actually does:


💦 Grips for Sweaty Skin

NO SWEAT

  • For sweaty hands/skin

  • Apply to hands or body contact points. Let dry for 15 seconds.

  • Offers a medium grip. Best on stainless and powder-coated poles.

GRIPINITE

  • For sweaty hands/skin

  • Medium grip. Works beautifully on brass, chrome and stainless.

ENVIRO GRIP

  • For sweaty hands/skin

  • Medium grip. Great on stainless and chrome. Eco-friendly and biodegradable.

MAKE ME DUSTY

  • For sweaty hands/skin

  • Medium grip. Best for brass and stainless. Light antiperspirant action.

MONKEY HANDS CLASSIC

  • For sweaty hands/skin

  • Medium grip. Suitable for all poles and aerials.

MONKEY HANDS STICKY

  • For sweaty skin

  • Strong grip. Ideal for high-friction areas like thighs. Will require a good clean after use.

MONKEY HANDS GLUEY

  • For very sweaty skin

  • Very strong grip. Use on hands or body contact points. Clean pole well after use.


🧼 Grips for Dry Skin

MAKE ME DEWY

  • For dry hands or legs

  • Spray directly onto skin. Medium grip. Gives skin a tacky finish without drying you out.

ITAC – STICK IT

  • For dry and sweaty hands

  • Strong grip. Great for aerials and leg holds. Clean your pole after using.

ITAC2

  • For dry and sweaty skin

  • Strong grip. Apply only to body contact points — avoid palms! Wash off with soap if it gets on hands. Best for holds, sits, and high-friction moves.
